Are You a Winner?

Hi there Beautiful!

Okay, so the Olympics have inspired today's blog. I could say the same thing everyone else is saying; Great accomplishment, the athletes have worked their entire lives for this, they deserve it.....ect.

And those statements are certainly all true. However, I think an even bigger message to take away from the olympics is this....What has your life up to this moment right NOW been about? If someone were to say, "wow! You are a winner because you've__________" what would they fill in the blank with?

Some days I feel like a winner when I can keep lots of mini-disasters from happening, like getting the dog to go outside in time to throw up. Or keeping the kids from pulling each-others hair out. Or catching my hubby before he tracks mud and cactus spurs through the entire house. *laugh* Good times!

But there are moments that I often wonder what exactly it is that I am on this gorgeous planet for. The age-old question, "why me?" Have you ever asked yourself this?

So.... why you? Why are you here? Want to hear my theory? I think it's because you HAVE SOMETHING. You are here to give meaning to someone else's life. Maybe you know that person, and maybe you don't. Haven't you ever had someone make a profound impression on you and you didn't even know them? Haven't you ever been touched by a movie or a book? Heck, I even cry during sappy commercials! Please tell me I'm not alone in that regard! Haa haa!

So these Olympic athletes have worked most, if not ALL of their entire lives for the moment they compete at the Olympics. Up to that moment, that IS the meaning of their lives. Regardless of what is next for them, let's look at this for you. What is YOUR thing you've worked for most of your entire life? Is there something? Or have you simply not discovered it yet?

I finally feel I've found my purpose, and the funny thing is it was never far from what I've done all along. But what about you? Where are you in your life's purpose? What are you here to do? What have you spent your life pursuing up to now? What are you a winner at?

Reflect. Be honest. And share your journey below. I'd love to hear your thoughts! I'm thinking of you!

Warmly,

Kirin

What are you Afraid of?

Hello Beautiful!

Do you mind if I share something with you? It's a little embarassing.....

Okay, so everytime I'd go to post something on my blog, I'd chicken out thinking it was too lame, then delete the entire post. Silly, right?

But here's the thing... WE ALL have a deep seeded fear that we aren't good enough, aren't 'worth it', or some other self esteem issues that you and every other person you've ever known has struggled with. Even THE MOST confident people struggle with this. But the honest to goodness truth is that it's even more lame to be afraid to share your truth. (Not saying that you are lame....but it is lame for us all to stay rooted to the spot in fear because we question ourselves).

The solution? Simply share who you are. The real you. If the real you has fake boobs, fake nails, then be proud of that. That's still the real you. (Like people get braces just to chew food better?....BS! We get braces to look better and have a prettier smile.) It's a beautiful thing to want to improve your looks, health, how you communticate, etc. Being your best (and working on improving yourself so you can be your best) is fine.....but start with sharing who you are at this moment! Right now! Face the fear!

Yes, the unenlightened may judge. Yes, there may even be some individuals whom for no good reason at all have decided that they just don't like you. But you know what? That's THEIR issue, not yours! And the best part is, the tons and tons of people who really, really DO like you....they will help to lift your spirits and confidence like nobody else can.

So my challenge to you today is this: What is the 1 thing you've feared sharing with people? Is it that you're too nice because you want people to like you? Or are you intentionally bitchy as a way to keep people from getting too close? Do you overeat as an excuse to hide and protect yourself from the world?

Whatever it is, I want you to take ONE SMALL STEP towards facing that fear. What is one simple action you can do to prove to yourself that you ARE worth it? Maybe it's standing up for yourslef and saying "NO!" Perhaps it's allowing yourself to accept a compliment from someone - and simply say, "Thank you"!

Because you know what? I think you are important. I think you are worth it. You ARE good enough. And I can't wait to hear about your journey. Please share your thoughts below. Best wishes!

Warmly,

Kirin
